Governance training introduces staff and directors to the standards, policies and legal obligations relevant to their role, but a single induction session delivered once rarely stays genuinely useful for long, since rules change, memory fades, and new staff joining later miss the original training entirely unless it is deliberately repeated.

Refreshed, regularly repeated training also helps normalise integrity as an ongoing, everyday conversation rather than a box ticked once during onboarding and then quietly forgotten. Repetition, delivered well and without becoming tediously repetitive in its actual content, reinforces that these standards remain a genuinely current priority rather than a historical formality.

Effective refresher training increasingly draws on realistic, practical scenarios rather than abstract rules alone, since staff generally retain and apply a concrete example, close to their own everyday work, far more readily than a purely general statement of principle that never quite connects to their own actual daily decisions.
